Jonobie's Home Page

Erm, I'm never really sure what should be on a page like this, but I somehow feel like I ought to have one. So, here it is. The picture above is from my trip to Alaska. While I was there, I hiked on a glacier and felt very explorer-like.

Interests and Hobbies

My Blog
I love to write, especially about topics that are important in my life. My blog contains snippets of random writing and thoughts on religion. Older writings on religion (very out of date) can be found here.
Pottery
I took six sessions from ClayWays, a pottery studio here in Austin. They focus entirely on teaching, so there's no need to work around production potters when coming in to do work.
Bridge
Recently, I've been learning to play duplicate bridge with my husband, Jeff. It's been fun.
Digs Magazine
I like decorating and entertaining, but so much of the how-to stuff out there is impractical and expensive. This is a great down-to-earth magazine with twice-weekly updated content. Although, for etiquette questions, I prefer the Miss Manners Column. Much more amusing and proper.
Long Hair
A recent whim of mine is to have waist-length hair. To figure out what to do with it while I'm getting there, I frequent the Long Hair Community forums.
Dungeons and Dragons
I've been in a lot of different groups through the years. My current one has a (infrequently updated) blog page listing our adventures from different points of view. I play Teph'na, a flamboyant bard who verges on being a rogue.

Friends and Family

Jeff Ford
Jeff is my wonderful and handsome hubby. His site has pictures of the two of us.
Johnnie Baker
My father's home page. He is the chair of the Computer Science Department at Kent State University.
Oberta Slotterbeck-Baker
My mother's home page. She's a professor of Computer Science at Hiram College.
Casey Peel
Casey's a dear friend that I met when I was first hired at Tivoli. We now generally hang out and play D&D together. Oh, and he hosts all my web pages and mail for me, garnering him my eternal thanks.
Sarah Paetsch
I met Sarah when we were the only two women in our introductory computer science class at OSU. We went on to work on at least one hellish project together and now hang out and play D&D together. This links to her blog.
